Hello All,
My name is Chris Doak and I’m the Pastor of the Vine young adult ministry at Faith Church. I wanted to personally extend an invitation to those that are looking for a place of community. The Vine meets at 6:00pm in the Chapel of the Church located on the first floor. The heartbeat of the ministry at the Vine is Christ and seeing Him glorified. We meet for the sole purpose of learning more about the Bible and in turn becoming more intimate with Jesus. We believe that the Bible is the means by which we become more intimate with Christ and learn what He expects from us as we live in a world where the majority is separated from God. We also believe that as we become closer to Christ we begin to illuminate His light to the world and share the hope that is within us the hope of glory. We also like to have a good time. Each week we have Bible quizzing competitions between the young adults. They are given a chapter in the Bible to learn and then come back the next week prepared to square off against each other. It is enjoyable for all who attend. A prize of usually Starbucks or McDonalds gift cards are given to the winning team for the week. We also look forward to the Vine Weekend Update with Jill and Shawn. The Update is taken from Saturday Night Lives Weekend Update. We use current events that are happening in the ministry of young adults or the Church and give humor and excitement to promote what is happening for the month. We don’t try to replace Church; we just try and offer another opportunity to grow in Christ so that we can live a life that is fulfilling and full of joy, a life that you and I were meant to live. I hope to see you in 2008!

The Young Adults ministry is for men and women ages 18 to 30. It exists to reach people with the gospel of Christ, enable them to find Biblical community, and equip them to grow into fully functioning disciples of Christ who use their God given gifts to serve Him for His glory. This is seen as a being accomplished in a three-pronged strategy: Connecting, Growing and Serving. There are open doors in the Young Adults ministry - come on in and find a place for you.
Connecting
We will address the felt needs of young adults, those emotional, spiritual and physical needs, in programming designed to provide an opportunity for young adults to make healthy connections with others.
Growing
We will challenge young adults to make a personal commitment Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Based on that personal commitment to Christ, we will challenge young adults to grow in deepening that relationship through personal time spent with God And by providing programs designed to facilitate spiritual development.
Serving
We will challenge young adults to identify their talents and spiritual gifts and use them to serve God and others both in the body of Christ and the community around them.
